It is a classified and soon to be moth balled as the X- space plane comes
on-line. Hyper-sonic planes were eating rolling shockwaves in California on
a Thursday morning, once a week, a few years ago.

A-12 and SR-71... That's about it...The next closest would be the XB-70
Valkarie. The X-15 was pretty quick, but was mainly a manned missle with the
flight characteristics of a brick below Mach 1.0. My point being is that by
the time to reach a safe altitude to achieve that rate of speed you'll have
to begin your descent.
