Sounds like ball joints. Had mine replaced a 16K.

I had mine in twice for the front end pop, the cab bolts and radiator
support bolts had to be replaced.
The steering wheel clunk was fixed the first time I took it in, that was
the steering shaft & knuckle (intermediate shaft?).
I had to personally take the service manager for a ride to reproduce the
front end popping, after that it got fixed.
I suggest you take the manager for a ride.......that sounds kinda evil,
don't it?
