And in most cases it is a very expensive rebuild. In some cases you can
benefit from the interchageability of stock parts that will work. Like
building a 400 B engine with a 440 RB crank is a great example.

With the 4.7L, you have no such wealth of stock parts to draw from. You'd
be going to Velasco for a custum crank and Venolia or Ross for some custom
pistons. It would be far cheaper to retrofit a 380/360 crate.
