Is there a fuel pressure regulator up around the engine? Or is the fuel
module(filer/regulator/pump) the only check valve/regulator? I was looking
in the Chilton's manual and saw that there's mention of the fuel module on
the gas tank as well as a picture with a fuel pressure regulator up by the
injectors. Does that second pressure reg. exist? BTW, which service manual
are you using and do you know where I can pick it up? And is it good for
those of us that aren't quite good with automotive stuff but are willing to
learn? I need a Dakota Overall Repair for Dummies. Chuckle. With lots of
pictures and graphics. Thanks for you help.

John, the fuel system in the FSM (for '99) is 67 pages, or I would just copy
it for you. The delivery system, though, is as you described.
Should you return the truck, I just want to encourage you to at least
consider another dak. If I had found the DML prior to purchasing my new
one, I might have had second thoughts too. It does seem, at times, like no
one is happy with their truck...but that is the nature of a group like this.
It wouldn't last very long if 650+ dml'ers every day logged on to say "I
drove another 10-50 or 100 miles today and not a single problem, man I love
this truck" - it just doesn't happen. But, I am here to tell you that I've
had my '99 V6 auto for 7 months, 5,000 miles and I've not had one rattle,
ping or miss of any kind. Man, I love this truck! Don't give up...
Cal
