Makes the engine run cooler. The Magnum engines (at least the 318 and
360 V8s) run optimally at 183 (I think that's the temp. I read on
here). The factory stat is 195. By running a little cooler, you get
cooler air. Cooler air is denser air. Denser air means more Oxygen.
And I covered what more air/Oxygen means earlier.

I haven't heard what, if any, thermostat mods work on the new 4.7L
engine.

Of course, I could just be talking out of a bodily orifice, but them's
the facts as I recall reading them on the list. But with all the new
stuff I've crammed into my pea-sized brain the last month, something's
surely been mangled or slipped out in my sleep to make room for the new.
