I just took a ride in my buddy's R/T! My 318 pulls alright, but that 5.9
pulls like a locomotive,a nd he didn't have his foot all the way in it. I

On a different note, I picked up a few FREE (read: FREE!!!!!) horsepower
today. I was out cleaning up my MSD 6AL installation, with some split loom
tubing ont he wires, and I was poking around the engine compartment, and
somehow started pondering ram air on the induction tube. I looked at it,
and thru the grille, and was thinking of making a double-snorkel induction.
I looked at the grille, and found a cover (?!?!??) in front of the intake
tube. I removed it, carefully, and ran my hand up behind the bumper and
pulled it out. The tube is held in by a couple of clips the secure it. I
took it for a test drive,a nd she pulled harder in the 50-90MPH range than
she ever has. I would like to know, should I leave it off, and get a piece
of stainless screen, and cover it, to keep bugs out of my K & N, or is there
a major reason for the cover's presence?
