Clay,
The pulleys are indeed underdriven. I've had a set for over a year now and
was pleasantly surprised to feel a slight gain. I noticed it because it was
all throughout the rpm range under any conditions. It is a small gain but
where you can really tell it is in a place where you drive alot like to/from
work. I had a slight hill just after a turn where my truck would always
downshift under acceleration then upshift almost immediately and it was
annoying. After the pulleys - no more downshifting in that spot!
The crank and alternator are undersized and that difference is made up in the
fan/waterpump pulley (its huge). Therefore the stock length belt can be
retained. If you add the forth power steering pulley - you will need a
different belt. Charging performance is just the same everywhere except idle
where it is NOT charging. This can be bad if you do lots of stop/go type
driving. Things like power windows, heat/ac fan, and blinker speed will be
noticeably slow for sure while idling. Once the rpms get to 1000 you wont
notice any difference from stock. I wouldn't recommend them for those with
aftermarket stereo systems (or any other non-stock accessory) that pulls lots
of amps. The stock EFI setup is very sensitive to low voltage. Thats why
when your battery starts to die - the truck won't budge.
For me - it was a worthwhile upgrade - plus they look good. But then again my
truck sees mostly interstate/highway miles.

Shane
