How old is the information? How old is your magnum engine? The book is written
specifically for the magnum engine design which has only been around for a few
years. The book has only been in print for a few years. Anyone considering
modifying these engines for performance should be reading it on a regular basis.
I'm trying hard not to come across as an a$%hole but it seems that nobody wants to
discuss the actual technical merits of these questions. I guess I understand how
Jules must have felt. The difference is that I'm not selling anything - just
giving away free information. Just a few weeks ago when this was discussed - I
posed several questions about lower cylinder wall scuffing and the piston
composition in the magnum motors. The only replies I got were attempts at
discounting the information that I am trying to share with the DML. Maybe I
should just unsubscribe for awhile.
My apologies Mike if you have just joined recently. I do value your (and most
everyones) opinions here. In fact - I was looking forward to your reply hoping to
provoke you/anyone into discussing this further. It is the FUD (Fear,
Uncertainty, and Doubt) and the general bad information that is slung around on
the DML that I don't like. I'm not accusing you of any of that Mike - in fact,
alot of what you say goes over my head. I'm here mostly to learn about magnum
motors - I don't even have a Dak. I am expecting to purchase one here soon though
to be used strictly for drag racing.
My apologies again - read the archives to understand why this struck a nerve.
Latr,
Shane
