the bottom, What are you preventing Jon?? You still gotta replace it,
right?? Your rear end is f'd up a that point, You've been driving around
with shavings floating through the entire assembly at that point, I dont see
anything preventive there, Just start pulling her down and put in some new
guts!!

I think what he meant by that was if you see an abnormal amount of metal
shavings, or broken teeth. If you've had wheelhop, I strongly suggest you
pull the diff cover and check things out. Just because you can drive it
doesn't mean there is nothing wrong. I have an axle on my porch that I'll
be happy to take some pics of if anyone wants to dispute that :-) Drove
around for many moons not knowing how bad the spider gears were, and now
they're so f'ed up I can't get the crosspin out :(
Preventive maintence is where it's at man :)
