Who said anything about a specific supercharger. 8-71 and 10-71 blowers are
very capable of 12+ psi. Look at it this way...you run close to 1/3 more
boost on a turbo just to get the same HP out of a blower. Is a turbo
capable of more boost...never said it wasn't. Which makes more
power...supercharger.
A minimum 5-10HP loss from a pulley...hehehe...who cares. The 5-10HP you
loose from a pulley is easily made up for with a proper intake system, or
exhaust system, or mild porting, etc. As for the turbo, heat is a big
factor on HP loss...more than 5HP. Cram twin turbos into an engine
compartment that wasn't designed for it and you've now got a cooling
problem. But again, with more boost...you can make up for the minimal loss.
(Heat wise...well, that's another issue with the engine oil with turbo's are
known for burning up prematurely.)
Cost wise, Blower's are still more "cost effective".

whaaaat you think a supercharger makes more power than
a turbo ...( smoke is taking it's toll ) now back to
reality the cost of a turbo kit if there was one would
be half of a superchargers and you would never be
sitting on the side of the road with a broken belt .
also what is the max boost you could get out of a
supercharger 5...9...15 and really be pushing it i had
a ford turbo coupe and i belive that the waste gate
starts opening at 17psi and that is a stock motor with
factory settings so with a street/strip set up you
could get away with 20 easy ...... ok lets see a
paxton of a vortec do that ....... and if you want to
get tech and all that supercharger is also robbing at
least 5hp just from running off a pully ... where a
turbo uses that exaust that you normally just blow out
the tailpipe to spinn the compressor this = no hp loss
