The autocross today was an absolute blast. Gary Pinkley did us proud!!! He
embarrassed probably the majority of the Super Stock class (the highest
showroom category). Pretty much you had to be an experienced competitor in
a full-on street prepared coneblazer to play in Gary's league.
Rich guys in Porsche's, Vette's, M3's, and MCoupe's are strongly cautioned
not to bring their girlfriend's along to witness the feeding of the Lions.
Not to brag or anything, but my stock SLT+ CC just missed matching my
buddies new BMW MCoupe in time (85sec vs 88sec---it was a VERY long course
this month). "The gas pedal is on the right in German cars..." Poor guy,
he got beat up on by Dakotas, then got a flat tire on the way home.
I really encourage more Dak's to show up for these. Serious fun. And the
Dak ain't bad! Even a high rise SLT is stock trim.
A couple of thoughts on the day....
Hey Gary! How much is the full on Hotchkis Setup??? Trust me guys, it
works! I couldn't get it out my mind all the way home.
The V8 is wasted on AutoX.
Stock SLT+ body height sucks! Stock Eagle LS tires suck! Even so for a
4000lb truck that I bought to tow 6400lb trailers, its an impressive
handler.
Next time they have a normal one of these, let's see some more Dak's
pounding the parking lot!
