- ----But that's just about the speed where aerodynamics starts to play a

major role in fuel economy right? i mean, in the city i never go more
than
40 mph (70 kph) and so any slight effect that having any tonneau on the
back
is negligible.

aerodynamics plays a role ALL THE TIME, not just when you're travelling
50+ mph. (and especially with a truck)
Isnt there someone in the dml who can explain this?? We dont drive in a
vaccum,
when you're going 35 or 40 mph, you do experience wind resistance, and at
that speed is when
a soft tonno outweighs the advantages of a hard one in terms of weight
and wind resistance. I do most of
my driving above 35 and below 50 mph, so the soft one was exactly what i
needed. A hard one would be a better choice for someone who frequents
higher speeds, but thats not the case for me.
