My question: is the 4.7L a reliable V8/match trans--does
anyone have one with high mileage. I've driven the 4.7 and am very
impressed. >>
The engine rocks! If you dont mind the manual tranny, I'd get it if I had to
do it all over again.
I have the 45RE auto with 3.55's and it runs good, the way the tq converter
locks up makes me wish I had 3.92's though. Its like having O/D with O/D
locked out. I have a problem with 2-3rd shift, seems like it is a slip
between shifts. DC says its normal. I'm glad I got the 60k warranty. Its
not normal, but they cant find anything wrong.
I have a 4x4 reg cab with 31x 9.5's and I get 12.5-13 around town ( I run
hard though). On the hwy I saw 20 somthing when I cruised at about 70 (2000
RPM's).
I still love it, my friend has a 73 Javelin with a 360 (soon to have a 401)
and I keep on his arse.
Bite the bullet!
