Shoot, you're scarin me Kuk.. Are folks ruining cranks?
I haven't seen the 6er main caps up close, but I'm thinking
closer to 20 PSI with a decent intercooler. If the ports in the
3.9 look anything near as good as the 5.2s I've seen, it should
make good power. The worst ports I've ever seen in an automotive
engine are on the intake side of a Syclone, and mine has run 12.50s
through the cat with a horribly under sized turbo. Applying *better*
technology to an engine with better ports should get some smiles..
With boost (as w/ N2O) detonation is a bad-bad thing..
I'm thinking that a TE62 turbo and some 50lb port injectors would make
good power. Speaking of main caps, if you get the chance, have a look
at the little fellas that are on the factory turbo buick block.. With mods,
you can get them into the 10's on a stock block if detonation is kept in
check..
I read somewhere that the CC blocks have a higher nickel content than
the SB chevy stuff (read tuffer), and was wondering if anyone has heard the
same.
Thanks for the info.
Mike V In heavy sponge-learn mode. sorry for all the questions
