MAP

I can't help but see all the post's concerning pinging. My guess is that
this is occurring on Dakotas with aftermarket PCM's. I know the advance
curve on the the Mopar Aftermarket PCM's are set aggressive. I assume most
guys are running lower t-stats and free intake setups, and free flowing
exhaust for lower cylinder temps. (I know it isn't the 8.9-9.3 compression
causing it.) You guys have mentioned bad MAP sensors as the cause, so on
another subject, has anyone tried to remove some of the advance out and
modify the curve of the aftermarket pcm? Using the Jet or MSD timing
computers? Or has anyone tried to adjust the amount of vacuum to the MAP
with a small vacuum shuttle petcock, for performance? (ignoring the MIL
light, it will go away)
