I think the 6s had/have the 42RE tranny. May be based on the 500. If you
look at the tranny pan and the sides are straight, then it's based on the
904. If one side near a corner has a slight outward budge, then it's
based on the 518. Nearest I can tell, the 500 is a derivative of the 904
and the 518 is from the 727.
