Hi, Shane.
Sales area rep. with OTC up here told me that their OTC scan
tool set was the only one that was officially (un-officially?)
okayed by D-C.
Their Pathfinder '99 software can cover '89 to '99 GM, Ford and
Chrysler vehicles. Their Pathfinder II s/w covers '79 to '93
all computers in all the domestics.
They have a model which hooks up to a PC (not sure if serial
port or IEEE) so that any TSBs put out by the domestic
manufactures which calls for a program upgrade can be downloaded
to the scan tool and from scan tool to the on-board computer.
Designated web sites from the manufacturers do a check for encrypted
ID in the scan tool before downloading the free upgrade program.
It would not surprise me if OTC makes the DRBIII and Chrysler
specific s/w for D-C because they are so similar in functionality.
The model that I have allows me to due a multitude of tests:
Drive Cycle Enable, O2, I/O, Actuator, AIS, Minumum Air Idle Speed,
Emisiion Maintenance Reminder Lamp Reset, Set Synchronization Mode
on distributor, IAC Reset, Adaptive Fuel Reset, Minimum TPS Reset,
Flexible Fuel % Reset, Enable/Disable Door Lock, Enable/Disable,
All Switches, Switch Test, etc.
Expensive but I have '85, '94, '96, '97 Dodges in the immediate
family.
Bob. Southern Ontario, Canada.
'97 Dakota CC Sport, FR, 5.2L, 3.55 SG, auto.
