control arm bushings

Question: Will a bad upper control arm bushing cause a vibration in the
steering wheel? I have had a moderate vibration in the steering wheel
for some time now. I just got new tires (BFG Radial T/A's) and this
got rid of almost all the vibration, (I thought the old tires were the
cause). But now I have noticed the vibration coming back. It comes
and goes. It's most noticeable after it has set overnight. After
I've driven a while the vibration goes away, and for the drive home
from work I don't feel it.

The passenger rear upper control arm bushing on my truck is pretty
much gone. It has massive cracks and chunks missing from it. I think
this might be it. But there is no funny wear on the tires and it
tracks nice and straight.

Just yesterday I started noticing a "clunk" coming from the front end
when maneuvering into a parking space or drive way. Would the bad
bushing cause this? Can I check the other things like ball joints
just by feeling for any play in them by hand?

How hard is it to install new bushings or is this a job best done by
someone else and how much will labor be.

Thanks, and BTW my truck is a '93 V8 with 98,000 miles on it.
