finally a question that is up my alley!!! while I am not a mechanic, I am a
chemist and have analyzed my own oil and found some similar results to what
the norms from Blackstone are considered to be. Boron is typically an
additive in coolant, but so is sodium, if both are high, then it may be a
problem. It is also an additive in greases and the like. Magnesium is part
of some aluminum alloys, so that may indicate wear, Mg is also present in
hard water if you have a water leak for whatever reason...
