Yup, I've seen this happen a couple of times with friends. One of my friends
had his back glass blowout into a million pieces after it had been sitting
in the sun and he went to wash it. This was in April so the ground water was
still pretty cold and it was about 75 degrees out that day. His insurance
covered it.
