Thanks for the input guys! I believe we're going to put a few more miles
(1K-2K) and see what happens before we complain to the dealer. Seems most
of you out there with the 5-speed 4.7L's as well as at least one 5-speed V6
Quad Cab owner are experiencing similar things. However, what bugs me most
about it is how slick the 3-4 and 4-5 shifts are in comparison to the 1-2
and (to a lesser extent) 2-3 shifts. Its kinda funny, y'all brought up some
noises and quirks (i.e. the occasional "clunk" when shifting 1-2) that I
hadn't mentioned in the original post, yet we've experienced those also. I
love these lists - though they will make you paranoid about everything that
*could* go wrong. BTW, someone had hypothesized that we had a 4WD, but we
just have a lowly 2WD.

On another note, is it just me or is a 3/36 warranty kinda lame? Has anyone
invested in an extended warranty and benefited from it? If so, did you
purchase it from the dealer - if not, who did you buy it from?

And yet another question - has anyone bought the factory fender flares and
installed them on a truck not originally equipped with them? I'm seriously
considering buying them because I think the truck looks silly with the tires
sticking out of the fenders - especially on a 2WD truck. It appears that
the holes are already in the fenders - is it that easy, do they just bolt
right on?

Sorry for all the questions . . .

Later,

Luke
