Well, the Milodon Gear Drive arrived today. It's already soaking in
Graphite Oil (overnight) and the truck will be torn down starting tomorrow
evening. There's one hole that needs to be drilled and tapped (5/16" x 18)
but that's about it. The gaskets required are: Timing Cover, Crank Seal,
and the Water Pump (optional): Total cost for the gaskets: $21.98 (w/tax).
I'll snap some pics tomorrow so that you can see what the gear drive setup
looks like and the teardown/install pics should be up by Sunday afternoon
(at the latest).
One key note: There's NO offset keyways on the cam gear...this one has to
be done with a Dial Indicator (got one already) and there's 7 settings...so,
this might take just a hair longer than expected. The instructions
recommend that you remove the engine from the bay....yeah...like that's
gonna happen.
If anyone is interested in the instructions, I have them scanned in JPG
format (two pages). Email me privately for them.
More on this as we run through the install.
