Ladder bars are connected to the axle with 2 u-bolt's on each side. All of
there welds and work held in place. As far as I know they did not mess with
the axle housing. Oh well, better it happen near the shop with the owner
than by myself at the track or on the street. I think I am scared forever
though. Don't know if I will ever be able to drive like that again. Oh well,
it will be in the shop for a couple weeks, going to be painted next weekend
and the interior and stereo the week after. Hoping for it to be somewhat
complete by The Socal Show on the 20th in San Dimas.

If the yoke is pointed up then the driveshaft u-joint wasn't the problem,
it was the "victim".
Steve! You bagged it! It's no longer a hot rod! Its a "SHOW" rod. You
eliminate the leaf springs right? What does the axle housing bolt to?
Your problem should be at that connection point. Usually its two large
ubolts clamping the axle housing to the top of the leaf spring on each
side, but who the hell knows on one of those slammed bagged shaved things!

| Ouch, did they in any way mess with the rear end angles or remove the
| shaft?? Sounds like the U-bolts that hold the U-joints in the pinion
| shaft were not tightened or the U bolts that hold the axle to the
| springs. Get under there and check them out.
