More BBQ stuff

The 2nd Annual DML BBQ and Trail Ride was a lot of fun! I felt
kinda bad for Bob though, who spent just about the entire time in the
back seat of Ed's quad cab or watching everyone trying to get unstuck,
and then had to go home without even having any lunch... I hope it
wasn't too boring for you, Bob! :-)

I'm going to try to take my pics in to get developed today. I've
already watched the video a couple of times. I think what we might
try to do is to get a copy of everyone's video and put 'em all together
and make copies available to anyone who wants 'em... I'm hoping I got
a few good shots in the 3.5 rolls I shot. If anyone else got any nice
shots, please keep the 2001 DML calendar in mind! I'm particularly
interested in checking out the vertical burnout pics! =)

It was great meeting some new faces, and I think it was great
how everyone pitched right in to help when somebody got stuck. It
was definitely a group effort.

I had a lot of fun, but lemme tell ya, for the next time, I am
going to get some (readable) maps together so someone else can
be the leader. I am gonna go last (or somewhere near the end) so
I don't have to hear "you didn't get stuck because you were the
first truck through" again! :-) I am extremely impressed with the
33x12.50 Cavalier Mud Kings I've got on my Ram. I was a little
worried at first, as they are a bit of a compromise because I
wanted a decent highway ride, but they did very well in the mud.
I only wish that I had tried to get stuck when I had plenty of
trucks available to pull me out, so I could have an idea about how
they do when you come to a dead stop in the mud. At $110/tire,
they pack an excellent bang for the buck. (I believe they are
actually made by Michilin)

The BBQ sure did seem to go by quick though! After spending
weeks getting ready, the BBQ was here and gone in a flash! :-(
The barn feels so empty today. Norah and I were talking about
maybe making it a Friday & Saturday event. I would also like to
keep improving it and adding things. For example, I'd like
to build an RTI ramp, and I am very seriously thinking about
building a mud pit. Perhaps something about 50 feet long,
with 2-3 feet of mud and water in it. (With a tractor parked
near the exit to help the folks who can't make it out.) There
will be more trails cleared as well. If anyone else has any
ideas for improving it, I'd love to hear them!

This might be as good a time as any to toss this idea out...
Would anyone be interested in doing a fall version of this
event? I was thinking maybe sometime after the leaves have
started to change color? That would make for some great pics,
and it should be nice and wet, too. :-)

Thanks again to everyone who came out; I had a great time!
