There was a famous problem with these exact symptoms. 94-96 Ram trucks had
this problem when heater A/C check valve was defective. PN 4677204 fixed
those problems. Have your dealer check that relationship to your Durango.

Hey guys,

Anyone w/ a 2k Dak or Durango having the infamous indecisive Chrysler HVAC
problem...i.e., at interstate speeds with the cruise on when the engine goes
from light-duty state to load-state (like in climbing a hill) with the A/C
on, the airflow shifts from the vents to the defroster. Then, once the hill
is crested, the A/C airflow comes back to the vents.

I asked my service writer to look into it but he could not duplicate the
problem. He told me that the 2k models used an electrical switch as opposed
to a vacuum-operated switch as used on the 1997-1999 models. Any ideas? Is
my service writer blowing smoke? Any info is greatly appreciated!
