Where in NY are you, Jeff? I have a QuickD intake on my '99 and haven't
had any emissions problems - but then I don't think I got sniffed at my
inspection. I was asked about it when I had it in there, told him it
wasn't stock, and he didn't ask for a CARB number or anything.

I have only the intake and my truck definitely has a little more grunt.
You can't get all the power available from the intake & TB combo if you
don't free up the exhaust - you're getting more air in, but you need to
get that exhaust OUT still. But you will get an improvement I'm sure.

Yes, the 4.7 is very, very new (introduced on the '99 Grand Cherokee)
and the parts will be coming at some point, I'm sure. The older engines
have a TON of aftermarket parts because, well, when you're working with
the same basic engine for 25+ years, there's a big market for the parts
and there's been plenty of time to develop them.

As for the Mopar chip, I don't think you'll find one for the '00 4.7
yet. I think they're still working on a '99 318 chip still. Remember
that if you get the PCM, you're probably gonna have to run the hi-test
gas - and that's $1.85 around here, compared to $1.70 for the 87. On a
17 gallon fill-up, that's $2.55 extra.
