I've had my truck for a few weeks now. So far I really dig it, and I have
pretty much accessorized it to my liking. Now I am looking for some
performance enhancements...
I've been reading a lot about cold air intakes, throttle bodies, exhaust
systems, etc... Some of my questions really have to do with the whole CARB,
50 State Street legal business. I'm from New York and I understand we are
under Calif. emissions restrictions. I don't understand it all, but are
there any NY modders that can somewhat ease my worries on this topic? Does
it really matter, or should I be wary of what I put on my truck as far as
this goes?
I've heard a lot of good things here about Tony's QuickD intakes and
throttle bodies. If I were to go with these upgrades, would I also need a
new exhaust system to really see any benefit, or would those additions alone
make a noticable difference? How about the Mopar performance "chip"? I've
been following a recent thread on that as well and I am interested in that
as well.
My last question at this time is - what else is there? I haven't really
seen too much available in the catalogs and web sites I've been searching.
Is the 4.7L engine just too new for things like headers, intakes, exhaust
systems, or am I just looking in the wrong places.
