99 V-6 Exhaust Diameter

I am going to cut off my stock muffler and replace with a flowmaster. What
size do I need to order. I thought that it was 2 1/2" in/out but a heard
recently that its 2 1/4" in/out. So what is it.

Also what is the diameter of the tip of the exhaust. I am going to get a tip
that covers the rusted pipe. Or do I cut of the "stock tip" and replace with
a new crome one?
