Easiest thing may be to take the cover off again. That should give you
enough of the snapped bolt to grab ahold of with some needlenose. then you
should be able to turn it out pretty easily.

I heard it described that the pressure (tension) between the bolthead and
contact surface area are what keep a bolt in place. Without the head and the
tension it creates, the threaded portion of a bolt can be backed out pretty
easily.

I was changing my gear oil in my axle and everything
was goin fine. Went to put the cover back on to let
the rtv set and I snapped the head off a bolt on the
cover. Luckily it was above the fluid line, but I
still want to replace it. Anyone have tips on how to
get the bolt out of the axle? Let me know, I need
