I'm not Italian, but that was the first word that came out of my mouth when
I saw her...."Bella" which means Beautiful. And it just fit her so well...
We got the results from the Blood diagnosis and she has kidney probs because
of the heartworms. She has to take a medicine called Amphojel for a week
first before going through the arsonic treatment. I have to keep her calm
from this point out which is almost impossible, but as soon as I get in the
door I'm to the floor comforting her to keep her excitement level down.
She's a trooper, she made it through all the abuse to get to me and I wont
let her go down that easy...She's gonna have to put up with me for at least
another 10 yrs ;)
Bella and I thank all of you for your thoughts. I read them to her aloud
while she sits here with me. When she's better I'm sure I'll have some
pictures up on my webpage of her. I have to "borrow" the digital to do it
though.
Thanks all!
Heather and Bella

As a fellow dog owner (yellow lab / golden retriever mix) I wish you and
Bella the best. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed, since I don't pray, for
her. And happy b-day by the way. Why did you name her "Bella" are you
Italian?

Hey guys, please do me a favor. This beautiful girl walked into my life the
weekend of July 1st. She's a blue heeler. I call her "Bella". She was
abused by her previous owners hence the reason she ran away into my life. I
took her to the Vet two days ago which happened to be on my bday...was a
present to myself to get her checked so I could keep her healthy and in my
life. Doc told me she was positive for heartworms. I couldn't just put her
to sleep and not try. He said she's got about an 80-85% survival chance
after the poisoning. That's just too good of a chance for me to ignore it.
All I'm asking from you guys is to keep yer fingers crossed or pray for
Bella...I need all the help I can get to keep my sanity...She has to go
under 6 weeks of quiet time. First two is to strengthen her kidneys that
have gotten a little weak then 4 weeks of the treatment. Y'all will get to
meet her when she's well and you'll see why I'm doing this. She is the most
loveable thing.
Please think of her for me...
