Anyone seen the October issue of High Performance MoPar? They have THREE
articles on Dakotas.

1) Y2K Dakota R/T: Seven dragstrip runs
    1 - stock 15.90 @ 89.24
    2 - modified launch 15.41 @ 89.45
    3 - air filter element removed 15.39 @ 89.28
    4 - air inlet elbow removed 15.31 @ 90.04
    5 - changed driver (50lbs lighter) 15.14 @ 89.92
    6 - remove spare/jack 15.00 @ 90.91
    7 - improved launch technique 14.96 @ 90.98

2) Continuing build-up of '97 Dak SLT CC, 5.2L/5-spd.
Dyno Runs HP Torque
    Baseline - 176.9 248.5
    w/synthetics - 186.1 251.5
    +K&N filtercharger 193.1 267.2
    + Borla exhaust 202.0 264.9
    + MP Computer 200.6 270.6 *

* they noted that although peak HP dropped with the MP computer, overall HP
increased from 3000 to 4000 rpm. They thought that maybe the computer was
retarding slightly due to some pinging, but they liked the computer.

3) '87 Dak street machine
This sucker started out as a 2.5L 4-banger, ended up with junkyard
360, B-body rear-end, modified suspension, etc. Truck runs 12.20 @ 110.5
and serves as a daily driver / parts runner. Total cost: $4890 including
price of truck, engine/trans, wheels, tires & lotsa other goodies.

Interesting reading....
