autolites once again 5224/3923

I keep hearing about everyone running autolites in their Daks. What is the difference besides a different heat range in the 5224 to 3923's? What should you gap them too? Are these both compatible in the 4.7 & 5.2? What about driving in the winter - do I need to worry about putting the direct replacement ones back in?
