Your manual is correct. Make sure you're doing in-lbs and not ft-lbs. 150
in-lbs is about 13 ft-lbs.

Subject: DML: tranny pan
My Haynes manual says to torque the tranny pan bolts to 150 in-lbs. Is it
just me or does that seem really excessive, and would casue the gasket to
tear. I torqued them yesterday to 40 in-lbs and from the looks of my
garage floor, it's leaking.
I'm gonna stick in on the lift at work tomm and retorque the
bolts. Should I go with the 150 in-lbs? I really don't want to tear the
gasket and have to drop the pan again.
