Could it be a faulty unit? Did you ask MSD to send you a replacement to be
sure? They'll usually do that. I've heard of people going through several
units before one that worked correctly. I'm not saying that they had the
same problem as you but problems with the unit nevertheless.

You're comparing apples and oranges...we're on completely different
wavelengths. A CB radio operates near 27 MHz. My amateur radio operates
between 144 and 148 MHz. They're absolutely and totally different. I've
tested the MSD setup with my 10 meter radio (operates between 28 and 30 MHz)
and there is no noise there...nor is there noise in the AM/FM/CD radio. The
noise is only present in the 144 to 148 MHz range. I guess I could borrow a
spectrum analyzer to prove my point.
Again, I'll bet that the MSD unit is not compliant with FCC Part 15. I'll
know more once MSD Tech Support responds to my questions.
