The poly 318 debuted in the '57 Plymouth, the LAseries 318 replaced it in
'67

| The 318 came out in either 57 or 58. with dual quads in the Plmouth
Fury.

That would be the Poly 318 A engine.

The wedge head 318 LA engine came out in, I think, in 68 to replace the
273's that had been around for a couple of years (64 maybe????). The 273
and 318 are very close. Same configuration, same stroke, different bore
size. I think the 340 came out in 68. It was a big bore version of the LA
motors with bigger valves, hotter cam, and a good four barrel intake with
AVS carb.

Early 70's the 360 came out to replace the big bore/short stroke 340. They
increased the diameter of the mains and put a longer stroke cast crank in
the 360 with a smaller 4 inch bore. In 1974, a HP version of the 360 came
out, it was not bad for a low compression smog motor in the mid 70's.
