What kind of temprature is your truck running at when it is in motion, not
in traffic?
My 4.7 will run at the normal 190-195 range on 90-100 degree days when it is
in motion, but as soon as I stop and am in traffic, it will rise up to 210.
The red zone tempreture on the gauge is 260. So if you running at up to 210,
I wouldn't worry about it. The hottest I saw mine was 220-230 range, and
that was on a 90 degree day climbing Mt Washington, which is a average grade
of 12% for 7.4 miles, with a maximum grade of 18%. It never pinged once on
the way up (87 octane), and when it rested, it when right back down to
normal range.
