Why? To make it an even comparison. You can yell all you want that a
4.7L will outrun the 5.9L, but you're giving it the advantage of a
manual vs. the R/T's slushbox.

If you want to compare an R/T to a 4.7L, mate them up with the same
chassis and transmission. My 5.2L with a stick will probably beat a
4.7L with an auto, would you want to be in that "battle?" You'd be
screaming "unfair" the same as an R/T driver would be pitted against a
manual.

If you want to compare 2 engines, everything else MUST be equal. If
not, then you're not comparing the engines, are you?
