Just adding in, but my buddy John Burgan had a 96 318 5sp 2wd w 3:92's with
alot of goodies and I have a 4.7 4x4 auto. We came off a merge onto a two
lane stretch. I floored it and he did the same, although we werent side by
side and I took off first, I was doing 80-something when he caught up and
passed me doing 110. The distance was about a 1/4 mile when he passed me.
He now has a 00 4.7 5sp 2wd w 3.55's, and I gotta say, the 96 Dak was MUCH
more fun to drive! I thought my truck lacked top end, the 4.7 5 sp, well you
might as well think of it as a 3 sp with dual OD.
