Subject: Re: DML: Paint.....Warranty??
My bright white dak had 'rail dust' embedded in the clear coat. It was
explained to me that this occurs when dust from the train track rails gets
on
the paint before the clear coaat has fully cured. It looks like little
rust-red pin dots all over. The dealer had a local body shop rub them out
by
hand with some kind of fine clay and then finish out the surface again.
Looks
good now. This was only a few months after I purchased though (noticed when
buying and they said no problem, whenever I could give it up for a week they
could get it fixed). But I also recall the dealer saying something about
the
Chrysler paint warranty being the best and longest in duration and that
mopar
paint is considered the best. Of course I believed every word ;-) Anyway,
I
was left with the impression that the paint warranty was for much more than
a
year. Couldn't hurt to check it out.
