Excellent! Don't feel bad about tailing him, 5.0 owners are the rudest
people on earth! For the most part, at least. You'll get him next time.

Subject: DML: Almost spanked a mustang!
Well here is my story. I was coming home from a business trip last friday
and low and behold turned in behind an 89-91 mustang. I had seem the car
around my town before and knew it was owned by a local kid. It was painted
green with white stripes and always did sound good with the dumped exhaust.
Anyways...I caught up to him and he was doing about 65. I rode his butt
until I guess he decided to play with me. I was thinking my friend had told
me once when I had a mustang that it had 355's or 411 gears. I was right
behind him when a small amount of smoke came out his tail pipes and he
accelerated. I guess that he finally got pissed since I was riding his ass,
but hey...I was just trying to get a reaction! I floored my '00 CC 4x4 with
the 4.7L and the auto and off I went to catch him. He was just barely
pulling away from me when I looked down and noticed I was doing 95. I went
ahead and let off the gas since I knew I wouln't be going much faster due to
the programming in the PCM, or at least I guess it won't go faster from what
I have gotten off the posts in the past. I guess I really must say that I
thought I kept up with him pretty good. I know those old 302's that age
were only rated at the factory for 225 horse. I was just very happy that I
was driving a 4x4 truck which was probably twice the weight of his stang and
I was able to almost keep up with him. I had taken off my K&N poor boy the
previous week and put the stock box in while I was doing some modificaitions
to the tube I made so I am sure I would have done much better with that on.
I put it back on yesterday afternoon and took it out for a spin...I never
was able to spin the tires with the stock box, but with the poor boy it will
really light 'em up. Anyways...just thought I would share my little mustang
experience.
