My opinion is this:

There are two types of lowering kits:
  1. Hotchkis
  2. everyone else

If you want real performance and have the money, Hotchkis is your only
option. If you want looks and some performance gain (simply for lowering the
center of gravity), then I don't think there is much variation between the
other manufacturers. My friend has a beltech 2/4 drop (with the option of
upgrading what he's already done to another 1"/2" down.) He seems to like it
and says it handles really good now. He has not ridden in my
Hotchkis-equipped dakota and i haven't ridden in his truck yet so i don't
know how much of a performance gap there really is (everyone seems to think
there is no comparison).
