Yesterday, I was reading on the DML about the coming Recall
for Generation III Dakotas on the rear Brake Line problem. So,
after work yesterday afternoon I stopped at the Service Center
(where I have all my work done) and told them to check it out.
Put the ol' Dak on the hoist and took a peek. Yikes!!! The rear
Brake line was in bad shape. Outer cover was gone and the inner
threads were showing and begining to seep brake fluid. I will have
a new Brake Line and the modifications necessary to prevent this
from happening again TODAY!
Point is, I did not receive the Recall Notice yet! If I had not picked up the
information on the DML I could have easily had a real problem on the road
before I even knew about the defect.
