Don't know about the plugs. My 99 R/T has only 24k miles on it and I don't
think i need plugs yet. I think some may have used colder plugs to help with a
pinging problem. I have not had that problem. The metal devices are heat
shields to prevent exhaust manifold heat from melting the plugwire boots. I am
waiting for an answer to the plug situation too. I must have missed the
original discussion on why to use this number.
