You may be early enough in the model year that ordering won't take an
excessively long time. Just hope that they don't find any defects in
the final inspection. When my parents ordered their '00 Durango, it
took 6 weeks to get built, then failed final inspection at the factory.
Had to get a SECOND one built. Ordered the first week in November,
didn't take delivery till the 3rd week in January.
Damn, that sucks that he didn't have insurance (figures, though). I'm
shocked you got that amount from the insurance company, but hey, don't
look a gift horse in the mouth. That'll probably be about 1/2 the price
of the truck - quite a nice down payment! At least you can use part of
that check to take care of the rental.
