Chaz,
   My 5.9 to 5.2 swap was different from what you are describing. I would
trust your mechanic, although I really dont know if they balanced the 5.9 in
96 or not. Ill ask around at work, but I dont know about that. I cant see
DC doing something that costly!! Only because I work there and know what
the cut backs are like! lol Besides you possibly needing a balanced TC,
the motors are a direct swap. As far as your wiring goes, I dont really see
you needing to swap harnesses. Although, you may need a 2000 computer
(hoping it mates up to your harness) but you may not! I needed the 93
computer to keep my 93 5.9 running in my 95 dak. But the harness was the
same.
