Re: How could you do such a thing? (From a Dedicated Dak Owner)

I have driven 18,000 miles so far on my 2000 Dak Quad Cab,and i dont
ever plan on getting rid of it.I am very sentimental about the vehicles that
i have owned. My last wheels were a 94' Caravan, and even though the tranny
went at 96K,i needed new wheels.My mother(still living)gave me a real
gift,an early inheritance gift..SHE BOUGHT MY
2000 DAKOTA QUAD CAB!.When i signed the papers for my Dak(yes,i bought it
off the showroom floor)i went out and looked at my van.Even though i was
getting a superior vehicle,I got very emotional. That van and i had been
through hell & high water together. If any car truly had a soul,it was my 94'
Caravan...

Well, now i have my Dakota, and i am extremely proud of it.The cheapest thing
i can put in it is gas,so i'm not planning on selling it for at least 15
years..YES,I LOVE IT THIS MUCH!.I wash my Dak 2 times a week, and wax it at
least once a month.Everytime it rains,i use "Meguiars Mist Detailer"
spray,to keep it clean like the day i first
drove it.I also clean out the 15x8 aluminum mags every 3 days.I dont
smoke, and i dont let anyone in it that does. Also,i dont allow coffee
in my Dak(i think u can guess why).

And if any fellow DML list members in Wisconsin see a 2000 Forest
Green/Driftwood Dakota Quad Cab driving around with 2 Dodge Stickers
on the back window,an American flag, and U.S. Swimming Decals, feel free
to honk..(i'll pull over)

So if anyone else is thinking(jeez, heaven forbid!)of parting with their
Dakota, for a car that gets better mileage, let the recent sentence,so well
spoken by Charlton Heston of the NMRA speak for me..

"FROM MY COLD,DEAD HANDS"

I think i have just spoken for at least a 1000 Dak owners out there
