I think there's a TSB on the belly pan gasket as well (a leaky one will
cause pinging). Pop your air hat off and open the vanes of the throttle
body. Shine a flashlight down into the intake manifold. If you see oil
in there, the gasket's shot.

Have you tried a different dealer? This is well beyond the "normal"
pinging problem that our V8s have.
