That's because the data length for the speed limiter is one byte. If you go
to 255 the number goes negative. Actually if you got your truck going that
speed you'd go negative too.

We're talking about 2 different animals here I think, 5.9 is 4800, 4.7L is,
well, unknown, I've gone to 6000 rpms and not hit it yet??? might be a
slight error in the factory tach.
BTW, Mike Leach Co. tells me that the speed limiter has a maximum numeric
value of 254, thats as high as it can be set. I guess that'll be ok ;)

Nope, two separate things from what I could tell. RPM limiter on a stock
PCM is 4800, speed limiter is around 115 mph. HP PCM RPM limiter is 5200 and
speed limiter is....UP UP and AWAY!

My experience is that its more of an rpm limiter than a speed limiter but
that it takes both rpm and speed into account.
I can get 110+ if I ease it up there and stay out of the high rpms, but if
I'm kicking it it cuts out mid 90s.

Maybe mine is broke. Anyone else's behave like this?

Marty
