My idle varies on my '01, but only when the truck is moving. It 'hunts' for
an idle speed, 300-800 rpm, as long as the tires are rolling the least bit.
(However I believe like most vehicles there is a sensor that determines
movement). When perfectly still idles steady at 600 RPM and w/air or
defrost 750 RPM.
