I bought the Pro-Comp because Bernd strongly recommended them, and
stated that he had tried several brands. They were also more
reasonably priced than any of the shocks I had been looking at before
Bernd's suggestion. I haven't tried any others, but I like the Pro-
Comps very well. I do entirely street driving. The Pro-Comp 9000s
provide a stiffer ride than OE, but it is much easier on the
potholes. ;). Or, say, if you don't happen to see a curb, and run
over it (why'd they put that in the middle of a parking lot?!) I
feel much more comfortable hauling a load. The truck definitely
handles better.
I strongly recommend 4-wheel Parts. (though I always feel a little
odd buying things for my 2wd at those 4wd stores- but they are always
very nice about it.) They provide excellent, professional service.
When I called our Portland store to see if they had the Pro-Comp
shocks, the guy I talked to looked to see if they had any specials
coming up so he could give me a better price, though I was perfectly
happy with the price he quoted. He apologized for having to order
them in, though I didn't mind waiting a few days. (could have had
them shipped to my house, but by picking them up at the store, I
saved a few bucks, and got to put off paying for them until I got
payed.) Arrived on time, the store was busy when I picked them up
but they were still pleasant and professional. Altogether an
excellent shopping experience!

That would be them. No, they're not like the Monroe Sensa-
Crap. They have a
very firm ride but are forgiving over rough roads.
Just because they're for "Trucks", doesn't mean they can't be used
for daily
driving...talk to Flip about them as well.
Summit Racing or 4-Wheel Parts.
